The New England Patriots are fresh off a monumental comeback win in Superbowl LI. The typical Patriot way is to let their big stars walk, sign veteran free agents for cheap, and have rookies or unproven players fill in the rest. Something unexpected came about this offseason though. Rumors have spread that this could very well be the last of the Brady-Belichik era so the Patriots had a monster offseason. First off, Jabaal Sheard, Martellus Bennett, Logan Ryan, Chris Long, and Barkevious Mingo all left the Patriots for new homes. The Patriots then responded by trading for Defensive End Kony Ealy, and Tight End Dwayne Allen and handing a max contract out to corner Stephon Gilmore. The biggest surprise was then trading for star receiver Brandin Cooks. Lastly, to put the icing on the cake, they resigned Dont’a Hightower. Now the favorite to win the next superbowl by far, and hopefully give Brady and Belichek a story book ending.
